I brought Ace four Brembo brake calipers for powder coat as the end of a big brake kit build. Despite me being very flexible with the timeline and told him to take his time, the job was rushed, half-assed, and most critically — he oversprayed the piston bores. This is a massive safety issue. Had these been installed on the car without inspection, the overspray in the bores could have caused piston seizure under braking. When I discovered the damage that night, he told me to scrape the bores out with a razor blade. When I pushed back that that would damage them, he told me to drop them in an unlocked truck in his lot and he’d fix them. I wasn’t comfortable with that given what I’d already seen. When I saw the paint job couldn’t be saved and the color didn’t even match I asked for a refund. I even offered to waive the material cost and he refused. When I told him I wanted to discuss options to make it right he called me at work, became belligerent, yelled at me, accused me of just wanting money, denied spraying over the masking tape despite photographic evidence, and blamed my color choice for the quality issues. I had to pay another shop to chemically strip his work and start over
