We've rented from Hengehold twice for Burning Man, 2024 (15' box truck) and 2025 (24' box truck). We've had bad experiences with other rental companies in the past (U-Haul, Enterprise, you name it) so we wanted to go with a local company that seemed to invest a lot in a great customer experience. The first time had no issues. The second time, the truck failed on us Friday night [more details are below], and we had to get a last-minute rental from Enterprise, while also locating a parking lot where we could leave the faulty truck. Hengehold was not reachable because they are not open on the weekends. Then, we had to spend time/energy unloading and reloading a new truck, and a friend had to stick around on Monday to eventually get that truck towed. Hengehold refunded us the full amount. Knowing the Burning Man general schedule (which is the same every year), and as a business that must draw in a ton of revenue from the event, I'm surprised that they are not open on that Saturday/Sunday to help with these issues and provide replacements. Top notch service! Matt and Steve went above and beyond what any other dealer would've done. Being in Hawaii, I purchased a van from them based only on the online photos. Because I didn't want a standard white van, I had it painted by Dave's Body Shop (found on Google) which is located only a few blocks away from them. They drove my van there to get it painted (separately paid transaction with Dave's Body Shop) and picked it up when it was done. Then they drove it to the Matson docks to ship it to me in Hawaii. Smooth and seamless. I will definitely buy from them again! Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii !!!

This was my first experience with this team, and they were absolutely fantastic! I own several businesses, and I have to say, Armando is a master of client relationships. He called me multiple times to explain everything in detail, which I really appreciated. Jose, the technician, was super friendly and even reminded me about the ratchet strap I had left in the truck—such attention to detail! I highly recommend this company. It’s no surprise they’ve been in the market for nearly 100 years!
